WHO ARE WE?

We are, Kevin and Idalis and this is our blog. Welcome!

Kevin was born in Miami, Florida and is 36 years of age. Idalis was born in Vineland, New Jersey and she is 31. Fate brought us together on April 3, 2004. Fate now has us leaving behind the comfort of our 'normal' lives to head out and explore the world. A desire that we both shared and until two years ago, had no idea was possible. With some sacrifice, reorientation of goals, and some sound saving and investing we now know how possible it is and has become.

We plan to leave on the first week of August '08 and will head east. Our first stop will be either Madrid, Spain or Lisbon, Portugal. From there, it is anyone's guess, but we would like to continue through to Morocco, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, China, India, Tibet, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia. If time and money permits, it will be on to South America.

Life, as we know it, is soon to change. The cars get sold, the condo gets rented and a bag gets packed. Between now and summer there is a lot of planning to do. Please join us as we work to make our dream a reality. TESTING 1...2...3...

Enough of our idle threats...the day has finally arrived. I actually found the time and the witts to create a 'blog'. Not bad for someone who is pretty illiterate in the world of computing. Coincidentally, it is also the same day that we began our immunizations. It's a little tricky typing with sore arms. A total of five shots each. I won't get into the gory details, let's just say our blood is a bit of a cocktail at this point. Well, I guess it is safe to say it is on!

This is a test and only a test. Let's see how well this blog thing goes. For now, this will serve as the intro. As time passes and I get better, maybe we will up the anty. Please feel free to share with us and post your thoughts. T-minus 182 days and counting, from today (1.25.08)...
